'i saw myself saw himself saw himself' and 'i remember chatroulette' use screen-shots and chat transcripts recorded during a 5-hour visit to chatroulette.com in early 2010. The website paired random strangers from around the world to chat with one another via an audio-video-text interface. On the site, participants click 'next' to cycle through a constant succession of strangers, most exchanges only lasting a few short seconds. The installation acted as a material reinvention of my encounters, and viewers were invited to lock themselves in the wardrobe structure for an isolated experience. The book took the form of a personal photo album and was made nearly a year after my initial visit to the site; it was a means of pondering the transience of my encounters as well as web fads themselves.
